Birthday Girl - Penelope Douglas

So, I started reading this book a FEW weeks ago. I DNR'd it around 60%. I don't know why I read that far if I wasn't that into it. But I gave it a re-read this past weekend, and I didn't hate it. The spice could've been better, but I enjoyed the storyline. I especially enjoyed the part where Cole came back from boot camp, and they had a kinda heartfelt moment. Cole saying that he recognized all the sacrifices Pike made as a father without any hesitation and kind of giving a stamp of approval for him and Jordan by saying "No one is better off without you" was so cute. I loved that moment the most out of the entire book. I hate that that is the only part that stuck out to me. I wanted to love this book the way so many had, but again I didn't hate it. It wasn't THE book for me. Let me know your thoughts! Have you read it? Is it on your TBR?
